The AR Human Science Series was born out of a desire to make learning fun and interactive for children. The traditional methods of learning from textbooks or physical models were limiting, as they couldn't provide a comprehensive view of the human body. Choi Sze Ming and his team sought to change this by integrating AR technology into an anatomy model, allowing children to explore the human body in 3D.
What sets the AR Human Science Series apart is its interactive nature. Children can use a smartphone app to interact with the anatomy model, witnessing 3D animations of the body's systems, from the skeleton and muscles to veins and nerves. This immersive experience makes learning more engaging and helps children understand the complex structures of the human body.
Creating the AR Human Science Series was not without its challenges. The team faced technical difficulties in integrating AR technology with the physical model. Issues such as misplacement between the 3D model and the physical model, and changes in lighting conditions that affected recognition accuracy, had to be overcome. The team also had to ensure that the human body model was accurately engraved and colored, requiring precise temperature control in the injection molding process.
The AR Human Science Series is not just an educational toy; it's a revolution in learning. It turns a textbook into an interactive experience, making learning more engaging and fun for children. The product was developed after extensive research into children's learning behavior and consultation with over ten specialists to ensure accuracy and relevance.
Choi Sze Ming's AR Human Science Series is a testament to the power of innovation in education. By combining technology with traditional learning methods, it has transformed the way children learn about the human body. The product's success is reflected in its recognition at the A' Design Award, where it won Silver in the Toys, Games, and Hobby Products Design category in 2019.
